I’ve got some copper postcaps that need making for a fence I had built a little while ago. As well as looking rather pretty, they protect the end grain on top of the (cedar) posts from having water sat on them and travelling down on through – so prolonging the life of the fence considerably.

The colouration of the copper is caused by heating to anneal (to make it easier to bend) and will weather down to a uniform copper tone in a matter of weeks. The caps will be fixed with copper nails through the fold over flaps.
