Oak Rose Arch

Design for the arch as accepted by the client

Marking out the curves on 12 x 3″ oak planks

getting the rails square

Roughed out with a chainsaw

Wall hanger cut and drilled

The wood was a bit rough from the sawmill and needed quite some work to get it smooth.

Components ready to go.

All the components cut, sanded and ready to go to site

They were some big notches to cut in the 6″ posts.

On site, getting ready for assembly.

He’s up and clamped. Just a few hours of dowelling, wedging, sanding and routing to go.

All routed up. And I’ve got a slight case of mandruff.

Purbeck Stone Firepit Construction.
